Orientation Program

A majority of colleges offer orientation sessions for its incoming students and their parents. It will usually occur before the start of the school year.  These sessions help the students get oriented with the campus and its resources by covering such things as:

  • Registration
  • Student support services
  • Academic departments
  • Financial aid/scholarships
  • Library use

The orientation may also include a tour of the campus and it's facilities.  Parents who attend these orientations also learn ways to support their child(ren) academically and emotionally during this transition period.  The sessions are also a good time to ask questions and raise concerns.  Depending on the institution, there may be a fee involved to participate in these orientation programs.
